Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed he attempted to lure Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp back into the club in the summer of 2018.
Klopp changed back the club into European contenders and won two Bundesliga titles throughout his seven years at Dortmund.
The German departed Dortmund in 2015 prior to taking up his present job at Liverpool and has since led the Reds to Champions League success.
Although Watzke needed to attract Klopp back he admits that he wasnt surprised that his former manager did not violate his contract.
I knew that Jurgen would [decrease ], he will fulfil his contract Liverpool, Watzke composed in his new publication REAL LOVE. A lifetime with BVB.
Jurgen has always fulfilled his contracts, but if you would like to go new approaches and we needed to break new ground at BVB, then I had to ask Jurgen when he could maybe imagine that.
I did not expect that at all, but I wouldnt have forgiven myself for never even asking him at the moment.
As well as directing Liverpool with their European Cup, Klopp has his aspect placed to finish their wait for a first league title in 30 decades.
Liverpool are already eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League, and Watzke considers Klopps capacity to be so successful is a result of the fact hesalways fair.
The most significant thing in our relationship is and is that we can rely upon each other blindly, he further added.
Jurgen never lied to me. Hes always fair, even at the job. And I never lied to him.
Even in the most difficult phase, at the season of separation, when we jumped to the previous place sometime shortly before the separation from the Bundesliga, that was the situation.
That sounds really obvious once you say this, but I have experienced it in a different way in this business and with different trainers.
